Indian delegation visits NCCCS

On Tuesday 14th February, six Indian delegates visited NCCCS. The delegation, comprising members of TREC-STEP (Tiruchirappalli Regional Engineering College - Science and Technology Entrepreneurs' Park) and representatives from BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) met with NCCCS staff and toured laboratory facilities at both BGS and the University of Nottingham.

TREC-STEP and BHEL are currently implementing an EU-funded project for 'Developing a Cluster for Clean Coal Technologies (CCT) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) for the Indian Thermal Power Sector', and this visit was a part of the group's tour around Europe to research centres and pilot plant capture schemes that was designed to increase awareness of CCS issues and technologies in India.

The delegates were impressed with the staff and facilities they saw and discussed further collaboration with NCCCS in the future, which could involving training or further research projects.
